Spread the love

S.A.G.A. Empowerment Services Coalition, NFP (SAGAesc) is excited to announce another splendid day for its Sharing on Wheels (SOW) program.  The members of SAGA were excited to spend treasured time with the brothers and sisters at the Pacific Mission Gardens today.  Approximately 70 homeless people were served, and the experience came with great rewards for all involved.  Friends of SAGAesc included Six Jay’s Sausage, PreacherHead Ministries and not to forget brother Franco Solomon Israel Martinez whose donated item became the highlight of all donations to our constituents.

Our volunteers have truly been consistent with their time and resources, and SAGAesc truly appreciates them all.  Geno of Six Jay’s, who is a very humble brother, donated the infamous Six Jay’s sausages that were well received by everyone that had an opportunity to taste the uniquely spiced turkey morsel.  Fred Haley, president of SAGAesc cooked the sausages to perfection prior to the start of the event.  PreacherHead Ministries was represented by Stevie Robinson and Tamara Claiborne, who provided envelops filled with cash to our brothers and sisters in need. Special thanks to Sister Doris McMillan, Brother Zephaniah Israel and Brother Steve Drew for their monetary donations. Our bike raffle could not have happened without the gracious donation from brother Franco Solomon Israel Martinez.  The 10-speed bike was raffled off to Pacific Mission Garden resident Eddie Victory; better known as “Eddie Whisper.”  Eddie Whisper was able to ride off into the sunset with his new transportation, and SAGAesc was happy for the opportunity to provide it to him.

This effort has kept its momentum for over 15 years because of friends like you.  We continue to look to you to provide high quality gently used goods for our brothers and sisters in need, as you can by the Grace of God.

We do this because the bible teaches that
the poor will live amongst us always, and we are to do them good.
Mark 14:7

We are also “always” looking for volunteers.  Sharing on Wheels (SOW) is extending an invitation to volunteers to come out to our next SOW event, which is to be held Sunday November 17, 2019 at 1 o’clock until 3 p.m at Pacific Mission Gardens on 14th Canal.  We need your assistance with providing resources to the people we love to serve, those who are living in homeless conditions.

SAGAesc work is inspired by the love of God, an entrepreneurial culture and spirit of resourcefulness to get these resources to the needy. Our collective efforts and team spirit are passionately driven to push for meaningful social and economic change that uplift, with maximum impact.

Your help is needed!  We’d like to add you to our wall of fame so save the date for our next Sharing on Wheels event, Sunday, November 17, 2019, beginning at 1 p.m.
